Winterbottom takes Townsville pole

Mark Winterbottom claimed pole ahead of Ford Performance Racing stablemate David Reynolds in qualifying for the first of this weekend's V8 Supercars races on the Townsville street circuit. Winterbottom and Reynolds had topped the initial qualifying session, which decided who would reach the one-lap top-10 shoot-out and set the field from 11th place back. They then repeated that result in the pole session, with Winterbottom delivering a 1m12.9887s to beat Reynolds by 0.0245 seconds
